Highchair time!

Auntie Jackie's neighbor found this high chair at a garage sale, restored it and gave it to her. She, in turn, gave it to Noni and Grandpa for their house! Lilah loves it! We definitely need to start using a high chair at home. Also, Emily and Joey told us about these great net things... haha not sure what they are officially called. They look like pacifiers but instead of the rubber to suck on, they have netting. You can put pieces of fruit inside and the baby can suck on them and get all of the juice out, without swallowing anything large! Noni put some mandarin orange in there... Lilah was one happy baby!

Christmas with the Careys and Rodriguez's

We did Christmas with Chris' family on Saturday, December 20th because we were leaving town on the 22nd to head up north to Sacramento. Grandma, Great Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie and both Uncles totally spoiled Lilah Jo! She got quite a few toys that she just loves (all learning toys, which mommy loves) and a ton of toys! She even opened most of them by herself!

Moving to the Big Girl Crib!

So mommy has had a very difficult time with this whole "baby sleeping in her crib in her own room" thing. She's been sleeping in her co-sleeper next to our bed since the day she was born. She's now over 7 months old and mommy and daddy have decided to move her to her crib. Last night was the first night... probably shouldn't have waited until she was TEETHING to do this! She was up every few hours and ended up in mommy and daddy's bed (thankfully daddy is away at work or he never would have allowed it)... just for an hour or two. Needless to say, this is going to be a rocky transition, for both mommy and Lilah!

I read that my nephew Carter is staring his transition too.... good luck Jackie and Dave! It's rough! I see you're having the same issues!

I Love My Tubbies!!!!

Lilah is really taking to her new tubby - the inflatable duck! We put it in our bath tub and she is getting the hang of the splashing! We give her a rubber ducky of her own and she plays with that thing for as long as we'll let her! Here is a video of her enjoying her tubby...

... approximately 2 seconds after this video was shot... Lilah went face first into the tubby! She officially got her first full mouth and nose with water!!! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Daddy, Grandma, Uncle Mike and Cousin Mikella
The Carey boys and their babies

Our happy family!
We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We spent it with Chris's family so that we could spend a few days up north with my parents in Sacramento for Christmas. We were able to see the whole family which was great! We're looking forward to the rest of the holidays!

I'm Standing Up...

Lilah gets stronger and stronger every day! She's pulling herself up every chance she gets! I got video of her pulling herself up onto a bouncer chair at Chris's grandma's house... she's hilarious!

My daughter's on YouTube.com

So, as promised, Auntie Jess uploaded the 3 music videos of Lilah! Unfortunately, we had to put them on YouTube.com for now, just so that you can see them. I'm working on figuring out how to upload them onto here.

But Auntie Jess and Lilah made 3 music videos... 1 to MIA, 1 to Britney Spears and 1 to Gwen Stefani... hilarious and good times!

Go to YouTube.com and search for "Lilah Jo" and you'll see all three.

We HATE peas!!!!

We gave Lilah peas a few nights ago as part of her vegetable routine - she's taken to the carrots, sweet potatoes and squash... so I thought we could attempt peas. Needless to say... we will no longer be purchasing peas!!!! We'll be trying green beans tonight, although I have a sneaking suspicion we may be uploading another video similar to this one!!!! Hilarious!

Also, check back shortly... Auntie Jessica had fun with Lilah and the video on her MAC computer... I'm hoping to upload those to this blog very shortly. They were dancing machines!

Chillin' on the couch

Lilah had a little too much fun playing on the couch this afternoon.... the progression of pictures is backwards... she started far away, saw the camera, and quickly came towards it. That kid can move!

Happy Halloween

Our strawberry!
Ariel with Lilah...

Cousins!!!

Our pumpkins!
This year was clearly Lilah's first Halloween!!! We dressed her as a strawberry and she looked adorable!!!! We went to great grandma and great grandpa's house and helped pass out candy. She had a great time... but the highlight of the night was when daddy came home for the weekend! Thankfully, he was able to see her in her costume! Happy Halloween!

Hanging out with my cousin...

I love coming home from work to see the cousins hanging out at grandma's... I was able to grab a few pictures of Lilah with her newest cousin Mikella.... aren't they cute!!!!

Fun in my walker...

Auntie Laura, Uncle Mike and Cousin Mikella bought Lilah a walker/activity center for her baptism... and let me tell you... she loves it!!!!!!!!!! We can put her in there several times a day, and between the ball roller coaster and the ferris wheel, along with the book and the mirror, the girl is set!

Lilah at 6 months

Lilah is officially 6 months old! It's insane to think that we have a 6 month old baby already! They really do grow up way too fast! As of her 6 month visit, she's 14lbs, 11oz - so she's gained a little less than a pound in a month, and she's a tiny bit behind in her weight, but the doctor isn't concerned. She's 25 and one half inches long... tall and skinny! She had her 4 shots - oh so fun! - and doesn't have to go back to the doctor until the end of January when she's 9 months old! She gets to start on veggies now and meats in like 4 weeks, and by January 1st we have to have her on 3 meals a day! So crazy! But so fun! Feeding them semi-real food is the best!
She's growing more and more every day... she only wants to stand, but can sit up on her own now. She can also get on all fours (as you can see in the picture) and is starting to crawl but hasn't quite figured out how to maneuver hands and legs at the same time. She's an amazing scooter though... let me tell you! She's also talking up a storm... no real words (obviously) but the kid is a chatter box. We crack up at her daily... her personality is amazing!
We took big girl 6 month pictures which I'll post later!

Pumpkin Patch

The Careys!
Uncle Mike, Auntie Laura and cousin Mikella!
Our happy family!
Our beautiful niece Mikella!
The hay was very itchy! Haha! We took Mikella and Lilah to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. We picked out a pumpkin, and Lilah literally kicked her legs and screamed when she found the one she liked! I'm sure she just enjoyed the bright orange color! Needless to say, we had a great time looking at the animals in the petting zoo, walking around and spending time together!

More BBQ pics

Haha Lilah's first kiss! Woo hoo!
Look at Cohen... leaning in like a professional smoocher already! Mommy Jody and Mommy Emily have already put an arranged marriage into the works for Cohen and Lilah! They just love each other so much! Or so we like to pretend anyways! :-)

BBQ time...

Lilah's Uncle Chris (Simon) came into town last weekend. He's been working in Texas as an apprentice lineman - just like most of her uncle's... and he had a BBQ. Here are some pictures from that day/night! She's getting so big!

Lilah's Baptism

On Sunday, October 12th we Baptized Lilah at Blessed Sacrament. Jessica and Mike are her god parents. She was an exceptional baby that day, and even fell asleep on me during the other ceremonial aspects. When the water was being placed on her head she was out cold! :-) Who could ask for anything more!!!!!

Cereal for the first time...

Since Lilah has to put on some weight the doctor suggested we start giving her cereal now, instead of waiting until 6 months. So Thursday night we attempted it... I made it watery just like her bottle, and from the pictures you can see, she's not having it! But the next morning I made it thicker (a little watery-er than cream of wheat) and she ate half of a small bowl of it. We're slowly working our way up to it, but for the most part she's only eating about 5-10 spoonfuls... and then wants her bottle. Tonight I think I'm going to try some fruit! Wish us luck!

5 Months Old!

Hooray! She's 5 months old! I can't even believe it. Time is absolutely flying by, and she is growing up so quickly! We took her to a new pediatrician on her 5 month birthday because we HATED her last one... she's only gained about 14 ounces in the past month (probably because she was in the hospital) so they want us to put some meat on her bones! Other than that, she's happy and healthy and the doctor said VERY STRONG! Chris and I predict she'll be crawling by 6 months and walking by 8!
